A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Nice to meet you, I’m Brittany.

I started this practice because I believe therapy should feel useful, focused, and real — not vague, not endless. I'm glad you're here. Keep scrolling to learn a little more about how I got here and how I work.

My Therapy Path

LEARNING & GROWING

My Story

I've been working with students and young adults since I was one myself — first as a writing center tutor, then in university counseling, academic advising, and career coaching. That mix let me see how grades, finances, family, and campus systems collide in real life. I later moved into a medical school counseling center, where I focused on supporting future healthcare providers who were learning to take care of everyone else — often before they'd ever learned to take care of themselves.

My Why

At some point in my life, I would have given anything to have one person I could be completely honest with — someone who wouldn't make me feel like I had to perform or pretend to be okay. I became a therapist because I wanted to be that person for someone else. It's a privilege I don't take lightly. And when a client tells me that knowing they can come talk to me helps them get through the week — that's exactly what keeps me in this work.

My Craft

I'm licensed in Illinois and Ohio, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). A lot of the people I work with carry trauma they don't even have a name for yet — it just looks like anxiety, shutdown, or patterns they can't seem to break. I keep a strong trauma lens in the room, paying attention to how your past experiences are woven into your present — and making sure we go at a pace that feels manageable, not overwhelming.

My Approach

I'm direct, I'm engaged, and I will absolutely call you out — kindly, but honestly. I show up fully present in every session — if something you say moves me, confuses me, or pisses me off on your behalf, you'll see it on my face. That's what real engagement looks like. Whatever you bring in — the thing you did, the thing you didn't do, the thing you're embarrassed about — we work with it. No shame, no judgment, just curiosity.

PC Queen

My gaming PC is my pride and joy. I'm a horror game girlie with a Steam achievement problem, a soft spot for life sims, and a backlog I refuse to acknowledge.

Cat Mom

Three cats, three completely different agendas. Oliver has mastered doing absolutely nothing. Luna has never once respected a boundary. And Figaro? We don't talk about Figaro.

Donut Devotee

I have a running Google Maps list of every bakery and donut spot I've never been to — and I add to it religiously. Consider it field research.
